Safeguarding Irish Neutrality

The Irish Neutrality League (INL) is holding a national demonstration at 1pm on 18th April assembling at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Sq., Dublin 1.

The main message for this national demonstration is:

NO TO WAR & GENOCIDE - PROTECT OUR NEUTRALITY

This protest so far is supported by multiple groups and political parties including the Irish Anti-War Movement, the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Sinn Féin, People Before Profit, the Social Democrats, Green Party, Civil Engagement Group in the Senate, Senator Tom Clonan, Action against War, United Against Racism, Afri, Peace and Neutrality Alliance, Keep Ireland Neutral, Shannonwatch, Mothers against Genocide, North Wicklow Against Genocide, Pals for Palestine, Health Care Workers Against Genocide, Apartheid Free Arts, Teachers for Palestine and Walk with Leila and Friends for Peace, Bray & District Council of Trade Unions.

At a time where genocide in Palestine continues, despite

the so-called ceasefire, and the US and Israel’s war on Iran and Lebanon have had devastating consequences across the region, including in Gaza and the West Bank, we need to protest for peace more than ever. The consequences of these wars are felt by ordinary people throughout the world, including in Ireland with increased energy costs and concern for our peacekeepers in Camp Shamrock in Lebanon.

The Irish government has refused to condemn the actions of the US and Israel and wants to align us more closely with NATO and/or an EU army. The Irish Times (2^nd February 2026) reported that Ireland will use its EU Presidency to "support efforts to boost Europe’s defence industry and deepen cooperation between the EU and the NATO military alliance.” 

Please help us send a strong message to the

Irish Government that we will not be part of their plans to weaken Irish neutrality.
